Don't you hate summaries? I always find that I leave out salient details but when you meet me you can glean as much information as you like about me! At first glance, I may appear a bit serious and reserved however I think you'll quickly discover that I laugh easily and often, being quite merry and a touch mischievous. I'm also a pretty straightforward person, what you see is what you get and I like to deal politely and respectfully with others whether we're a match or not.

Looking forward to Fall 2009 when I'll finally be done with my degree and better able to put the knowledge to good use. In the midst of school and work, I try to sneak in some enjoyment of the many things I love and the people I care about. I lean towards the arts i.e. ballet, opera, theatre, museums, etc. I'm a voracious reader, I always have some book tucked into a nook somewhere ready to read at a moment's notice. I like to see new places, explore cultures different from my own, I think the insights you gain really enrich your life.

Working on my degree in clinical health psychology. Planning to work as a psychologist helping people cope with chronic illness and other medical/health concerns. It's really satisfying work when you can help someone see things in a different light which can be a turning point in a whole life. That's the academic side, on the fun side, I like to dance so I take classes when I can; I've been doing belly dance for a while now but I'd like to branch out into flamenco, ballet and latin dance as well. I've sampled all three and I enjoy the challenge of learning and the passion of dance. Also, I'd like to try my hand at some cooking classes, maybe learn a bit about wines, who knows what will catch my fancy next!

Listening and making people feel at ease; mmm and keeping calm and cool in tight spots. I'm a pretty good baker, convince me to make an apple pie for you and you'll see! ;-)

Favorite Books (a small sample): The Alchemist (and other works by Paolo Coelho), The Magus of Strovolos by Markides, Jane Eyre, Lord of the Rings, ancient plays by Aeschylus, Sophocles & Euripides, books by Anne Rice,all the Harry Potters - The Mists of Avalon, The Iliad, various novels by Isabel Allende, The Belgariad, the Brother Cadfael mysteries, Sherlock Holmes, The Ghosts of Albion series, books by Jim Butcher and much much more! I also love Greek mythology, folktales and mythologies from around the world.

Movies & TV: Lord of the Rings, The 300 (give me Gerard Butler! hehe he), The English Patient, Shaun of the Dead, the Harry Potter movies, Pan's Labyrinth, The Exorcist, Stigmata, Batman Begins, The Riddick Trilogy, My Big Fat Greek Wedding (I couldn't resist tossing that in there!), The Corpse Bride, Gladiator (give me a sword!), The 13th Warrior, Underworld, Moulin Rouge, Star Wars, Star Trek, Heroes, X-Files, Stargate, Torchwood, The Honeymooners, Keeping Up Appearances, Charlie Chaplin, and more...I tend to prefer dramas, period pieces, sci fi and fantasy movies but you might be able to drag me to a comedy...maybe!

Music - Love classical - Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Chopin, I guess you would say I favor the classical & romantic period composers more than anything else; opera - particularly Puccini (Tosca is my favorite opera with Dvorak's Rusalka coming in a close second), and I listen to a varied selection of music from all over the world. Just pick up my mp3 player, you never know what language you will hear playing next.

Foods - Greek (my mom would be very upset if I didn't put it first!), any Mediterranean cuisines in general plus Mexican, Indian, Thai, chocolate....

Basic necessities aside, if I had to be alone on a deserted island I'd request my books, computer, piano, art supplies, a book of Chopin nocturnes to learn to play, and mp3 player loaded with all my music (so I can dance!). :)

How we become the people that we are. As I am a work in progress on a number of levels, I think about my future and the things I wish to accomplish and the people I shall meet along the way.

I know I'm bad, but usually I'm working, unless you convince me to do otherwise (and I twist my boss' arm). ;)

Oh nothing, my secrets are my own! Hmmm, this isn't really private but this spot is as good as any to mention that I'm divorced, just in case you need to know. :)
